Is Integrative Medicine Right For Me?

Do you/does the patient have a medical diagnosis? If not, have you/has the patient undergone standard medical testing in the hopes of finding a diagnosis?

Are you looking to find and treat the root cause of your illness rather than just treating the symptoms?

Are you looking for an individualized, whole person approach to managing your health?

If you answered YES to the questions above, integrative medicine might be right for you. Integrative medicine is the integration of conventional Western medicine and complementary medicine with the ultimate goals of finding the root cause of your illness, developing an individualized treatment plan, and optimizing your health and wellness. At Markham Integrative Medicine, Dr. Gannage will address the whole person, and focus on the prevention and treatment of chronic, complex health conditions.

What can I expect from my first visit?

During your first visit, you will meet with Dr. Gannage who will perform a thorough medical history and physical exam. Blood work and specialty lab procedures will be ordered to facilitate your treatment plan. You will leave your first appointment with specific dietary changes and supplement recommendations individualized to your needs. Subsequent follow-up appointments are needed to monitor your progress and health outcomes. For select patients, follow-up appointments can be done remotely by phone. For children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD, ADHD and/or related disorders, the first consultation will be for the parents/guardians only, and will involve a thorough medical history as well as an introduction to biomedical treatment and Dr. Gannage’s approach.
