Meet Dr. Marillea Yu
Dr. Marillea Yu is a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) in Toronto, ON. She is a graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown, PE and completed her training as a ND at The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. She holds a license in good standing with The College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO) and has achieved the Prescribing and Intravenous Therapy Standard in Ontario and is a volunteer on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Environmental Medicine.
Dr. Yu has a special interest in Environmental Medicine, completing the Physician’s Training in Environmental Medicine with Dr. Walter Crinnion in 2016 and is continuing to broaden her knowledge with Clinical Training in Environmental Medicine with Drs. Lyn Patrick and Anne Marie Fine. She uses Naturopathic principles and Environmental Medicine to better investigate and treat complex chronic health conditions. She has also received her Mold-Literate Certification under the instruction of Dr. Jill Crista and is dedicated to continuous learning.
Dr. Yu takes an evidence-informed and wholistic approach to health and wellness and draws on a combination of therapies including nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy and acupuncture to create an individualized health plan for her patients.
Objective health assessment methods include the use of conventional labs, specialized diagnostic tests and functional assessments to better understand the processes fuelling the illness and to inform and fine-tune the treatment plan.
She has a special interest in pre-conception preparation and the management of autoimmune conditions, heavy metal toxicity, mold illness, hormones and metabolic health. She also helps patients in managing digestive problems, mood issues, fatigue and brain fog.
In her time outside of work she practices capoeira and plays sports to remain active, reads, listens to music and knits hats during the winter.
