About Dr. Gannage
Meet Your Mentor
Dr. John Gannage, MD, CCFP, FMAPS holds an active medical license in both the Provinces of Ontario and British Columbia. After completing his Family Medicine residency and working as a General Practitioner, Dr. Gannage left the conventional side and founded his integrative medical practice, Markham Integrative Medicine, in 1998. Dr. Gannage has studied extensively and earned certifications in numerous areas of nutrition and alternative medicine, and has continued to grow his practice over the last 30 years.
In addition to clinical care, Dr. Gannage is dedicated to advancing the safe and effective practice of Integrative Medicine through education and mentorship. In part through his own substantial experience navigating the system, Dr. Gannage is well versed in the nuances and complexities of the regulatory environment that Integrative and Functional Medicine practitioners face.
Considered an expert in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), Dr. Gannage has served as a respected peer reviewer for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO), has provided opinions to both the CMPA (Canadian Medical Protective Association) and CPSO as an Expert for the betterment of Integrative Medicine, and has supervised clinicians as a specially selected Preceptor. Dr. Gannage has educated countless practitioners both through personal mentorship and educational programs and presentations.
